WELCOME TO 1 SQUADRON!
We are the Wellington Unit of the Air Training Corps – a youth organisation with a military flavour.
When you join the ATC you get to do lots of stuff that you wouldn’t be able to do with many other organisations.
Some activities you will get to experience with ATC include flying a plane (or a glider, or a helicopter!), camping and tramping in New Zealand’s great outdoors, target shooting with our rifles, visiting an operational Air Force Base, challenging other local units in competitions, and making a heap of new friends.
Not only do we help you have great experiences, we help you learn the skills you need to get the most out of them!
At 1 Squadron we provide you with the opportunity to meet new people, have fun, gain confidence, learn how to work as a team, and how to be a leader as well.
Unfortunately our intake for the 2012 school year has closed, but if you will be between 13 - 15 (or younger but attending secondary school) in 2013 and interested in joining the unit you can still contact us to register your interest.
We will also be running an information evening in term 4 so keep an eye on the website closer to the time if you're keen to come along and hear more about us.
