No 1 Squadron Staff
All of the unit's staff are volunteers. Our staff are split into two categories - Officers and NCOs (Non Commissioned Officers). Below is a summary of the different types.

Officers
Officers go through a rigorous selection and training scheme before being accepted as a Cadet Force officer and receiving a commission from the Minister of Defence. Officers may have made their way through the ranks from a cadet or be a suitable adult volunteer.
It is the unit officers that have official responsibility for cadets - their safety, welfare and training.
NCOs
NCOs are the junior leaders of the unit and integral to the way we function. Cadets who have completed a significant amount of training with us and have shown leadership ability will be selected by the Unit Commander for promotion to an NCO.
NCOs assist with instruction, supervision and the leading of groups. As they become more experienced they can continue to progress through the NCO ranks. The unit Warrant Officer is the NCO in charge of the rest of the NCOs and is a pivotal role in the unit.
